80 km from Porto Alegre, Casa Pampa stands atop a hill with granite outcrops. Several dualisms were decisive in the project. The rugged terrain counterpoints the need for a flat house. The panoramic view to the south represented a challenge in the search for northern sunlight, perfect for the winter in Rio Grande do Sul.
A long horizontal volume has been designed that seems to float over the rocky ridge, allowing the garden to slide beneath it. On the south side, high-performance glass ensures transparency and thermal comfort. On the north side, facing the city, wooden panels give unity to the whole and act as brises, preserving privacy. Internal patios maximize natural light and cross ventilation in all areas.
