Located in Gramado, in a condominium with a large area of preserved araucaria trees, is the Casa La Negra, with a volumetry that embraces a large araucaria tree.

The architecture was based on the choice of warmer materials, such as wood, and dark colours, which capture the heat from outside during the day to keep the house warm at night. Sheets, glass and stone also made up the choices in cladding.

The definition of the program was based on the sloping terrain, little modified for the implantation, but which became a great design challenge. This is because the entrance starts on the ground floor - at street level - but it actually happens on the basement level, where the garage is. There, a staircase and lift lead to the social floor.

On the second floor, the social floor, the slab extends and the window is skewed with a set of steps that correspond to the original topography of the land, leading to the pool outside. On this same floor, the kitchen is integrated with the living room, its design inspired by references to German kitchens and its affective kitchen. In the living room, a window serves as a frame in the facade, framing the room and becoming an aesthetically beautiful element when seen from inside and outside.

On the third floor is the intimate area, with the four suites, living room and bathrooms. A large window with a side view brings natural light into the house, at the same time as it brings the preserved araucaria tree, embraced by the wooden breeze, inside. A metal and corten panel with organic designs is also the sill of the concrete staircase with ebony wood treads.
