CONDOMINIUM LÓTUS

CONDOMINIUM LÓTUS

The lotus flower is the conceptual origin of the architectural features elegant and harmonious, baptizing the development and reconfiguring the interaction of people and buildings in the planned urban micro space. An island in an artificial lake receives all the living areas and from it sprout prestressed curved slabs, walkways and buildings inspired by petals that are mirrored in the water. Like a lotus flower, the biophilic impression proposes an architecture that mimics nature and makes an impact through its simplicity.

At the condominium entrance, the portico cast in exposed concrete lends the organic shape of a semi- petal. The light, fluid curves continue into the buildings which house the party halls, sports and leisure areas, as well as the heated swimming pool with an infinity edge. Niemeyer's renowned Casa do Baile, designed in Belo Horizonte in 1943, is a modernist reference for the use of large spaces and natural elements in a pure state, strengthening the relationship between indoors and outdoors and the timeless experience of space.

It is also from the island that the lots - and therefore all the future homes - are organised, offering a walking experience and connection unheard of in the region. Seen from above, the condominium illustrates the metaphor of a flower that blossoms - from the roofs and central circular volumes of the common areas - and branches out - in the suspended walkways, bridges, pavements and streets that connect all the residences.

The project takes people to an experience that values tranquility, always surrounded by water and nature, without losing the dimension of the importance of designing spaces that are functional and beautiful to be in on a daily basis.
