A house that reflects its identity: Weiss, from German, white. It is as simple as the clarity and subtleness that white transpires. The owner’s admiration for symmetry and minimalism is mirrored in the straight lines and regular shapes meticulously juxtaposed in this residence, which is situated in a private condominium in Eldorado do Sul, BR. Through a skylight, natural light bathes all the social rooms of the house and it moves through all the environments, a stratagem used to illuminate very large spaces. It also creates boundaries, such as an atrium between the master ensuite bedroom and the other three ensuite bedrooms. Below the skylight, an indoor garden blurs the limits of inside and outside. The complementary elements produce a warm configuration: the stone and the wood bring about warmth to the earthy-coloured composition. The challenge was to use only straight lines and parallel cut-outs in the organization of space. The inspiration to balance the rectangular structures came from Mondrian and Rietveld.
