Streets Eng. Adolfo Stern and Eng. Olavo Nunes make up one of the most iconic routes in Porto Alegre, the Bela Vista spiral. The distinctive bends toy with the route and draw the attention. By following this spiral, alternative curves catch the eye: the waves from the façade of Building Vista, standing tall in a harmonious and friendly relationship with the city.
We broke through walls and barriers to interlink daily life: at Building Vista, the communal areas were elevated to the fourth floor, so individuals can be taken aback by the panorama that unfolds. A living space decorated by architect Ingrid Stemmer replaces the traditional reception/banquet hall; this is the Foyer Vista, an extension of the residents’ home.
We designed a careful architecture: the building must be in connection with its surroundings and its time. It evolves in timelessness. The use of genuinely constructive elements, such as concrete, together with the weightlessness of the vegetation and the aluminium, becomes an ally through the years: each day, more and more personality is added by the increased colouring of indentations.
On the social floor, the landscaping project by Susana Nedel offers a complete bond with nature: feet on the grass, al fresco parrilla grill, family Saturdays by the sun. The large rocks that compose the terrain create natural gradients, enriching the landscape and making this space a real personal refuge.
Indoors, a special view: large-scale windowpanes blur the boundaries of internal and external spaces. The city panorama unravels in a 60m² social space, with an open floor plan to be personalised as you wish. The open plan living, dining and kitchen, allow for a contemporary proposition of architecture – and of life.

COMMUNAL AREAS
Gazing also means recognising the self. This implies care, relaxation, silence. We have repurposed the reception/banquet hall into a new experience: a space outside the house but with all the comforts and amenities for one to feel, literally, inside the home. Shared books, cosy armchairs, WIFI and multimedia accessories…
The Foyer Vista includes a spacious living area, fit out with furniture pieces by important Brazilian designers, such as Guilherme Wentz and Aristeu Pires, an open plan gourmet area and dining space for those more intimate get-togethers and ample gardens with panoramic views.
The structure is complete with a state-of-the-art gym, a 25m-length, heated, swimming pool, motorised, stainless steel parrilla grill, and a playroom in Montessori style containing low-height, accessible furniture, to incite imagination.
“Whatever the future brings, there is one thing that will not change: the satisfying sensation of being at home. Comfort, space, our collections, whatever connects us to our inner selves… that is living.”
Guto Indio da Costa - Designer

S&R MAGAZINE
Instead of a catalogue, a magazine: with sensitive, deep and thought-provoking content, we share texts by Leticia Wierzchowski, Mariana Bertolucci and Guto Indio da Costa. The magazine discusses the philosophy of gazing and the relationship of architecture and identity, quality of life and happiness.
EXHIBITION PONTOS DE VISTA
Exhibition Pontos de Vista (Points of View), also converted into a photobook, is a photographic collection of regional authors from Rio Grande do Sul, BR and it shows a poetic and abstract interpretation of each author’s view of the urban scene of our cities. Curation is by photographers Andrea Graiz and Maurício Thomsen, including the works of 20 participants, selected among more than 600 candidates and 50 thousand votes. Institute Ling, in Porto Alegre, was the stage for the exhibition opening, between 10th and 12th May, welcoming more than 500 visitors. In the short film, the narration is a kind gift by writer Leticia Wierzchowski.
PANORAMIC VIEW
